Finally December

Hey everyone!
December is flying by! Last week we had Thursday and Friday off for snow days. I have a Bernese Mountain Dog named Jasper who absolutely loved the snow and cold! This week is the last week before Christmas break...yay! I'm going to Hawaii with my family the week before Christmas and I am so excited to relax and (try to) tan. I really want to try surfing while I'm there and hopefully also explore the Road to Hana.

This week, my PSU History research paper is finally due! It was assigned in September, so this feels like a long time coming. It's been really interesting to do such thorough research into topic but I'm definitely ready to turn it in and be done. It's a busy week at SMA...we have our Christmas family baskets due this Thursday. Each TA gets assigned a family and everyone pitches in and buys food, presents, and all sorts of goodies to give to them! I went to deliver to my TA's family last year and it was such a nice experience. December at SMA is always very busy but very fun.

I hope you guys all have a fantastic holiday break!
Merry Christmas,
Claire

Hi y'all!
Happy almost Thanksgiving! I'm so excited for the time off and to officially start prepping for Christmas! My family has a fun plan including lots of baking and visiting the decorations at Pittock Mansion! It'll be really nice to have the time with my family and friends.
In my PSU Modern European History we are working on our research paper. My topic is surrounding Queen Isabella of Spain and the Spanish Inquisition. I've been hearing about the topics of other people too and everyone has really interesting topics. We only have a two day week this week so it's not that busy of a week.
I hope you guys all have a great Thanksgiving week and enjoy the time off with family and friends!
Talk to you soon,
Claire

Early November

Hey Everybody!
Hope everyone is having a fantastic November! I don't know about you guys, but I start prepping for Christmas on November 1st! November 1st was also the early action/decision deadline for most colleges and I am officially all applied! I got my acceptance into University of Oregon last night ago and I am so excited! UO is my top choice and I'm really happy to have a decision so early!

I'm also really excited for this winter. Me and a bunch of other SMA girls have a plan to go up every weekend and really take advantage of our beautiful Mt. Hood. I just got a new snowboard and boots from Next Adventure so I'm all decked out and ready for the snow! I think this is gonna be a really great season and I'm going to have a really fun time with all of my friends and family.

Hope everyone has had a great November so far and check back in in around 2 weeks!

Hey everybody!
October is just flying by, it's been a really busy month! This week is the end of first quarter, which means that I have three quarters left of high school...what a scary thought! It also means that all grades are due at the end of the week so it's definitely time to make sure everything looks good!

I've been doing a lot of college prep, including visiting University of Oregon this past Friday. I had a really great visit and am super excited for whatever my future holds! I also submitted all of my college applications this past Sunday, which is really exciting and I'm glad to have it off my mind. Now all there's left to do is wait...

I'm really excited for Halloween! I love seeing everyone's costumes and how creative they are. My TA is doing a Halloween themed party tomorrow and I'm really excited. TA parties are the best because everyone brings a ton of really good food and we all just hangout and listen to music, or talk, or play games. I love my TA and I'm excited for our last Halloween party.

Hope you guys are all doing well, check back in around November 11th for more!

Fall

Hey everyone! Happy fall! Fall is my favorite season, watching the trees change color and eating pumpkin flavored things are some of my favorite things. Fall senior year is an incredibly busy time, I'm applying early action to all of my colleges which is November 1st. I can't believe it's so soon, I've been working a lot on my applications and I'm pretty happy with how they're turning out. While it's definitely a stressful time, my college counselor and everyone have been so supportive and helpful which makes the whole thing easier.
My classes have all been doing a lot recently. In AP English 12, we just finished Beowulf and our prepping for a test this week. I also have a test in my PSU Modern European History class covering basically everything up until the Black Plague.  In Theology, we're working on our Spiritual Autobiography which I've found really interesting and introspective. All of my classes are pretty interesting and I'm really happy with all that I'm taking.
I'm volunteering at CYO Volleyball Night on October 11th, which I'm really excited about. I hope I see some of y'all there!
Talk to you soon!

Back to School..

Hi Everyone!
Welcome to my blog! My name is Claire and I'm a senior at SMA. I play tennis, love to bake, and hangout with my friends and family. It's so fun being a senior! The Back to School Assembly was the first time we get to sit in the front of the auditorium and cheer, which is a really fun tradition everyone has been thinking about since freshman year!

I'm loving my classes so far. My favorites are AP English and Biology. In biology we're using microscopes to identify unknown substances which is really fascinating. In AP English we have a lot of interesting and enriching discussions which are a great opportunity to see things from other people's perspectives.

I had a really amazing summer. I went to Europe for three weeks with my older sister and went to Italy, France, Germany, and Switzerland. It was so much fun and I worked the rest of the summer ay Cold Stone Creamery to save up money for a ticket next year! On Labor Day Weekend I went to Bumbershoot, which is a three day music festival in Seattle, with two of my best friends Lilly and Devon! We saw a lot of amazing bands including Death Cab for Cutie, Macklemore, Tame Impala, and so many more. This was my second year going and it was totally a great way to start the school.

Below are pictures of me with sister at the Vatican and me and my friends at Bumbershoot!
Thanks so much for reading, talk to you soon!
